2023 Crypto and Ethereum Predictions: A Comprehensive Look at What's to Come
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of my dear subscribers. It's been a rough year in crypto, and many people have left the market. But you're still here, and that's not an easy feat! From the Luna fiasco to Celsius to FTX, it's been a hell of a year.
However, 2023 is right around the corner, and I'm feeling particularly bullish about some new and ongoing innovations. In particular, I'm excited about the ETH community - that's where the best builders are.
Without further ado, let's dive into my 2023 thesis.
Ethereum keeps evolving and is building towards a Rollup centric state
It’s not known when DankSharding will ship but a similar improvement called EIP-4844 (Proto-DankSharding) is expected to ship next year.
Overview on Danksharding
EIP 4844 will help ETH achieve its rollup-centric goal
EIP 4844 is a proposal that introduces a new transaction format called "blobs," which can be used to facilitate the implementation of rollup mechanisms natively within the Ethereum network.
This could potentially improve the scalability and efficiency of the Ethereum blockchain and make it more attractive to use rollups.

The Shanghai Upgrade is also expected to play a key role in achieving Ethereum's rollup-centric goals
This upgrade includes improvements such as the EVM Object Format (EOF), which is an EVM improvement

Other EIPs said to ship include
EIP-3651: Warm COINBASE 59, EIP-3855: PUSH0 instruction 26, EIP-3860: Limit and meter initcode
Warm Coinbase will help MEV extractors and block builders - flashbots
EIP 4895, "Beacon Chain Withdrawals” is said to ship before the end of March.
I believe that ZK-Rollups will have a major advantage in 2023, with zkEVMs in particular leading the race.
The zkEVM that I'm most bullish on is Scroll.
Why?
I'm also bullish on StarkNet and what they're building with Cairo.
And I can't forget about Polygon, who spent $650 million to acquire two great zk startups, Miden and Hermez. Miden is a pure Stark-based solution that uses its own virtual machine, while Hermez relies on EVM compatibility. Hermez is launching soon.

Optimistic Rollups?
Arbitrum is the defi king of 2022 thanks to GMX!
But with zk rollups coming what does the future hold for it?
I once made a thread on it
Chad @protolambda has some thoughts on the matter for 2023, which you can check out.
As for crypto in general, I don't recommend that any investors keep their funds on exchanges. Remember: "Not your keys, not your funds." Many exchanges are insolvent, and it's not a myth.
yes, and the Web2 crypto adoptoor of the year goes to @0xPolygon 👏

And please we won’t want Binance to liquidate, stop the fuds, and be realistic with facts.
Safu safu Mr CZ 😂
For NFTs
I’m bullish on the Japanese community
